Keep your cat's ears clean and healthy with our Fresh Ear Cleaning Wipes for cats. The same bacteria and yeast (Malassezia) that causes tear stains is also naturally present in your cat's ears and can grow out of control leading to an ear infection.
Eye Envy Fresh Ear Cleaning Wipes are made from the same all-natural formula as our Tear Stain Remover Solution, with the key ingredient Colloidal Silver to control the growth of bacteria and yeast. These wipes will not only clean and soothe the ears, but will also help prevent ear infections. We’ve soaked them in just the right amount of solution. Not too much, and not too little. They’re the perfect size for cleaning out the cat’s ears. You won’t reach too far down and cause injury. Use them to remove debris, dirt, and wax buildup. Each wipe is textured to gently clean and helps remove buildup more easily than a smooth alternative.
They will also remove any nasty odors. They deodorize but are fragrance-free, so do not bother sensitive kitty (or human) noses. They are also hypoallergenic and like all of our Eye Envy pet care products, they contain all-natural, non-toxic ingredients. They are free from, dyes, parabens, peroxide, steroids, and antibiotics. Simple. Safe. Effective.
Use daily to keep ears clean and help prevent ear infections. A jar contains 60-count ear wipes, which last 30-60 days depending on the condition of the ears.
What causes ear infections in cats?
If your kitty is an indoor cat, you can rule out ear mites. The likely cause of infection is an excessive growth of bacteria and/or yeast. This is especially so if your kitty suffers from a weak immune system, allergies, or diabetes. They will be more susceptible to ear infections than cats without these health issues.
Ear infections can develop when the skin lining in the ear canal becomes irritated, leading to inflammation. Inflammation can lead to excess wax production, which creates an environment where the naturally occurring bacteria and yeast grow out of control. Itching occurs and the cat starts pawing and scratching at its ears.
What are the signs of an ear infection in cats?
Other than the tell-tale signs of scratching, pawing, and rubbing the ears.
Black, dark brown, or yellowish discharge
Waxy buildup on or near the ear canal
Redness or swelling of the ear flap or ear canal
Discharge from the ear that resembles coffee grounds (a symptom of ear mites)
Strong odor
Hearing loss
Loss of balance or disorientation
Head tilting / headshaking
Crusts or scabs on the inside of the outer ear
Hair loss
Preventing Cat Ear Infections
Check your cat’s ears regularly for signs of infection, especially if your cat is a Persian or a Himalayan - these breeds with smaller ears are prone to ear infections. Cleaning daily helps remove wax buildup, dirt, and debris. Using Eye Envy Fresh Ear Cleaning Wipes will also help prevent ear infections by managing bacteria and yeast growth.
