At the heart of the GoPure Pod is an advanced ceramic, which has a doubly porous structure by virtue of its composition and by its manufacture design. This creates an enormous exposed surface area throughout, with which to interact with the water in which it is placed. By physical movement, convection currents and Brownian motion, the water remains in continuous contact with the core. The ceramic contains a variety of charged groups, which can interact with oppositely charged materials in the water causing adsorption. If present in the water, a range of impurities can adsorb onto the ceramic. These may include soluble and particulate matter including those responsible for creating stale tastes and odors over time. The ceramic is treated to protect it from microbial infiltration and subsequent blockage of its channels and functionality. The GoPure Pod should be rinsed periodically to remove any adsorbed impurities and keep it in pristine condition.
